Dato Alexidze

If we do not recognize the provision of Paragraph 1 stating that “all human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights”, the basis of all other rights (the right to life, personal inviolability, free labour, etc.) would change. Or if one of them is violated we should not expect that other rights would be protected and a man will be able to fully realize his universal right – humanity.A man is a creature acting in lots of dimensions, which exists and acts in material-live world and all his activities makes the world change. A man is turned to an active creature - human being in this dimension through freedom or free will, skill of free choice and ability to use it. Modern art strategy is based just on these principles that while reflecting the world’s integrity rejects ideal, local space of the Art and tends to deeply intrude into invisible layers of human consciousness. For that
, contemporary actual art for a long time adverts to illogical, sometimes paradox representations that may be excluded from original content and turn into new virtual object.
The stylistics of Dato Alexidze’s works is characterized by these signs that along with certain mysticism contain great number of elements of philosophic reasoning. Along with demonstration of panting culture the artist constantly appeals to a spectator’s unconsciousness and keeps the right to reappraise stereotype dogma and add totally different sounding to eternal categories. In this case it is of less importance which form of expression is chosen by the artist. He is not obliged to provide collected information exhaustively to the society according to universally recognized norms. The main thing is that his concept should comply with symptomatology of epoch, situation and turn into a “tool”, which is never regulated and from the semantic point of view always includes some remarks for thinking and argumentation.

Thus, mock-punning finding do not prevent (conversely, even intensifies) the task of opening the theme – Davit Alexidze’s personages exist and live somewhere beside us, in the environment well-known to us. At the same time by their unusual configuration they indicate that their life is not different, but it is proceeding with different emotional flow (as well as the life of each of us) and remind us once more that they have the right to have their “private life” – their own habits, sympathies and antipathies, weakness, secrets, dreams or passions. They have the right to live on their “islands”, that may be “forbidden” for others and this right should not be infringed by rough interference, as “the private life” created by a man himself is to some extent “creativity” that is inviolable. Correspondingly, the artist that claims to be free should not obey to dictates of majority and itS element should become even some “hooliganism” (even impart an inanimate body – doll with animated features that by the way do not exclude the association of protection of women’s rights). In that case artistic reflection of reality may become apparent even in absurd projects that is not excluded to turn in reality and
prerequisite of progress in future. And “freethinking man with unrestricted fantasy and rich imagination which at the same time do not deceive himself with illusions could not be wounded by dull governors and reformers (Henri David Torro).
