Parallel Biographies
Project presents the remnants of industrial architect making slow life of a provincial Georgian town called Chiatura (significant industrial town during soviet union) look quite dramatic, sometimes even tragic. Partially demolished architectural giants make an impression of destroyed ancient castles. There among the rigged-down metal-concrete structures one can easily notice economic crisis geometrically progressing in our country. Except strong emotional impression the remnants make on the viewers, they, I believe, carry significant environmental danger for the locals. The project name itself is the rephrasing of one of the most significant works (Parallel Biographies) of Plutarch. Year of 2006. |
